My Mom spent most of her youth in New Mexico, where luminarias are everywhere. Putting luminarias out in front of our house on Christmas Eve is one of my favorite family traditions.
I organized a Christmas activity on my mission where we put luminarias leading up to the church. The Brazilian members were so not into it. They all went inside and left me and my companion alone outside to do it ourselves.
