The Cobra Kai

It had probably been 20 years since I'd seen Karate Kid all the way through. That was a huge mistake. I went over to my friend Mike's tonight for a Karate Kid marathan and was reminded of some awesome lines:

"Sweep the leg, Jonny!"

"Wax on, wax off."

"Someone get him a body bag!"

And many more. No way am I waiting 20 more years before viewing this classic again! How long has it been since you've done the crane move, or watched this awesome montage (clip)!?

Being at home sick today, I was feeling a little down. That is, until I heard a knock on the door. And who was it, but the UPS guy, delivering some very exciting items!! See what I'm holding? A box full of delicious Idaho candy from my friend Priscilla! And see what I'm wearing? My Snuggie! The UPS guy was good to me today. Thank you Priscilla! And thank you Snuggie makers!

Better than nothing (?)

I just pulled this out of my purse and it made me laugh. My friend Jason "proposed" to me last night on Valentine's day with this. He had five others in his pocket so I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be too flattered. ;)

Check out the Valentine's box Brian made! He won the box decoration contest at the Valentine's party tonight. He deserved first place. He put a lot of effort into this box.

I can't believe it but I'm sick again. I went to the doctor today and when she left the room for a minute I took this picture. Is winter almost over??

Holiday baking

I love baking these sugar cookies for Valentine's Day! The red hots are my favorite part (delicious!). I made these tonight to bring to work tomorrow. It's become a tradition for me to bring these to work for Valentine's Day every year.

A short break

It feels like spring has come early. Of course it's not actually spring - it's still the middle of winter and the cold is coming back within a couple days. But it's been so nice and rejuvenating to have a short reprieve from the bitter cold. I drove by a marquee today that says, "we have to have winter to appreciate spring."

Foggy morning

The relatively warm weather we have enjoyed the last few days led to a very foggy morning today.

Comfort Food

I baked some cookies tonight and I must say: they're dang good.

Thaw

The snow has been melting and it's the most wonderful sight! I know more is coming but I'm trying to live in this happy moment.

Overdue

I won my friend Jonathan's services in a service auction recently. He changed my brake pads today and trust me when I say it was overdue! It was super warm today (45ish). I had to document that last fact because it probably won't happen again for awhile.

Although technically this isn't the case, today felt like the coldest day of the year (and I heard many people say that today). Must power through...

Triple Birithdays!

My mom, grandma, and great aunt all celebrate their birthdays within a few days of each other so we usually have a big party for all of them. This picture was taken during the "happy birthday dear..." part, which is why my grandma and mom are pointing at the others!
